This is my online family and I was feeling sad. To share with people I never interact with would make little sense to me - nor was I in the mood minutes after it happened to compose a deep and thoughtful essay.

I will try to be more Spocklike in the future.

No problem, I'm not attempting to moderate.

No, it's a religion. Look into Catholicism.

The incident (and Icelander's incessant pounding) made me reflect on my own mortality and how quickly it could all end.

Then I flicked on the TV and went back to being numbed out...

People always claim TV mellows them out, or that it is designed to pacify us. However every time I watch TV I get angry

Switch off Fox News and watch 'Planet Earth' on the Discovery Channel' or 'The Universe' on the History Channel.

Until they show another show about Nostradamus, thus provoking another angry, cynical thread from you.

Three years ago me and my girlfriend were driving through a snowstorm to go meet some friends, there weren't many cars around and we probably shouldn't have been out but we were.  As we were driving I noticed something crawling out from the edge of the road and pointed it out.

Once we got closer I could tell it was a doe and when I stopped my gf started freaking out because she saw that its two front legs were broken at the knees and it was dragging itself along with it's broken stubs making horrible whining screeching noises.  It was all bloodied and had patches of fur missing, clearly involved in an accident, the type of which shouldve put the animal out once and for all.

Anyway, she starts screaming at me to kill it and I'm like :twitchy::strokebeard::sad:  But she's right, it couldn't be helped, I doubted it was going to make it much longer just looking at the sorry thing.  So I went to the back of my car and got my tire iron and told my gf not to look and I beat its head in.  That was really hard.. looking into the animals eyes in a moment like that I dont know its really strange.

So man-up, cat killer!

I hear ya.

My ex-girlfriend slipped on a patch of ice and broke her arm. So I went to my trunk and got the tire iron...

Seriously though, that must have been very difficult. As an engineer, I would have built it a cart with wheels.

1) You can't get married to your spouse who is the same sex as you.
2) You can't have an abortion no matter how much you don't want a child.
3) You can't have a certain plant in your possession or you'll get locked up with a rapist and a murderer.

4) We need a smaller, less-intrusive government.

No, he had 'crossed over'. (John Edward confirmed it.)

All-in-all, a real catastrophe.
