fastest way to get from agar plate to fruit

I have several petri dishes colonized with mycelium ready to go, what substrate would result in the fastest colonization? I am thinking agar wedge transfer to rye. Or would it be faster to make some kind of sterile water/mycelium solution out of the mycelium on the agar and inoculate with that? I am trying to force a fruit in time for the holidays on short notice.

Trying to "force a fruit" is never a good way to go about things. If you wanted fruit by a certain amount of time, its best to plan at least a month or longer to make sure its done properly.
Now with that said, its surely not impossible. If you have yourself a good isolate on that agar dish, its possible. Just don't be disappointed if they don't fit your time line.
The fastest way would be liquid inoculation. An Eberbach works great. If you don't have one (ghetto one can be made cheap and easy with an old blender that fits regular mouth mason jar) inject water into the dish, scrape the myc. with the needle to dislodge it, then suck it back up.

Heh, I never thought of that. Not a lot of yield there though. I am not looking for a bumper crop but I would like a little more than that.
