Cakes not pinning

My friend has some pf tek cakes in his basement that are taking longer than normal to pin. He let them colonize in the jar for a week after they were all white and then dunked and rolled them. His basement his pretty cold (might drop to like 15 c or 59 f). I know this is pretty cold but will it stop pinning altogether or just stall it? He doesn't really have a way of making his FC warmer.

So nobody here knows if they will stop growing or just pin late? I find that hard to believe. My friend has no warmer place to put them and is going to throw them out soon cause he's sick of fanning them if they're not going to do anything.

I'm rather inexperienced, but I think 59F is pretty low. I don't think it would kill the mycelium, but it may stunt growth. If he is investing the time and energy into this, he might as well drop another $20 on an electric blanket, or make a heatbomb

59 is a bit too cold. Do a search on the subject. You'll find more info than we call tell you in one post.

In case anyone cares it's even colder then before but pins are starting to show. It's been almost 4 weeks since the cakes were birthed so I really don't know what to expect but it will be interesting to see if the fruits grow slowly too or if they retain their usual speediness.

Most likley due to the cold temp, in ideal conditions cakes take between 3-7 days to pin sometimes upto 2 weeks.
So given the cold temp it probably stretch to 4 weeks, also note that it will take longer for the mushroom to reach maturity.

I said colonized for a week after they were all white. So that people wouldn't tell me that maybe they weren't fully done when they were birthed.
