There are all kinds of herbs that will do well.
If you have a botanical garden around you they usually have gift shops filled with cooler than usual house plants.

Some cacti will do nicely...Salvia is something of a window plant I suppose. I have a couple of largish coffea arabica shrubs that are fast becoming more and more shrubbish just leaving them in the window during the day. They might be my favorites to grow, actually. You can find them pretty cheap; I got mine at about a foot high with 4-5 actual shrubs in the pot for $2. If they weren't clearing them out it would have been $5 or something.
(not mine, but several months of decent treatment will get you there fast)

For that one fraction of a second, you were open to options you'd never considered. That's the exploration that awaits you...not mapping stars and studying nebulae... but charting the unknowable possibilities of existence. If you want to act suicidal and shit: Brugmansia is really beautiful. but the effects is those of scopolamine and atropine.... not nice....
Tobacco is grows fast and is easy to care for. It will work fine as a window plant if you have direct light for it a portion of the day.

Yeah, that shouldn't be too hard.. I'm not sure what light cycle that triggers flowering but that should be easy to find out..
