Check the terminals, unscrew 1 of the caps and see if you can see any water in their, if its dry you might be fucked, but putting in some MINERAL WATER ONLY, could revive that i believe.
Alternator works ok and been charging?

I've had that problem before, usually with a smaller car trying to jump a bigger car/truck. You'll get it to turn over once or twice, slowly, and then nothing.

Once, men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.

try cleaning off the negative lead on the battery with a wire brush. corrosion would prevent it from working.
sometimes, big trucks run two batteries and have increased voltage. In that case, i doubt youll be able to jump it with a car. Also, make sure youre using thick gauge jumper cables.
Also, remember, though when jumping, just placing the positive to positive and negative to negative will work, but when charging you should place positive to positive and negative from charged battery to ground on car that needs jumping. Usually the engine block will work as a good ground. a bolt head somewhere, or a hoop that some engines have to remove the engine will work.

yeah I'm going to try more... im jumping my skid steer which has a big battery from my cummins diesel truck that has 2 medium sized batteries.
i'm hoping the block heater would help... my battery charger is at my friends house...
aghhh.. so annoying we have like 18" and it's still coming down and if I don't plow soon there will too much to even plow.

i watched a vid somewhere where a guy got his dead battery to start his car by pouring red wine into it and waiting a couple min...if its really an emergency and youre gonna buy a new battery anyway, why not try it.

My car wouldn't start a couple days ago, so I jumped it to a truck and at first it still wouldn't start, but I left the truck running while it was still connected to the car's battery for prob about 5 minutes and tried after that and it worked. Try letting it 'charge' from the other source for a good while first?

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure car batteries have cells, that hold the power. If you let the battery die too many times these cells can actually die, leaving nothing to be charged.

hopefully this shit gets goin... still fuckin with it... and i don't have any red wine. the battery is pretty hard to get to and my pita considering how much snow we have... i could start this for a few hours after jumping it typically the thing had a decent charge.
anyways goin back outside to fuck with things more by now I could have almost shoveled the driveway.

Take your battery to the nearest AutoZone, where they can test your battery. It is always free to test a battery.
My buck says you've blown a cell (ruins the batter), and it probably will be putting out less than 2 volts.

lol, my mom told me to pour a coke on the battery in my old car that had been sitting for like 4 years. after i did that, all that happened was it starting leaking some fizzy green acid looking shit on the ground. i stood there like hmm.. thanks for that awesome crackhead advice, mom!

I don't see why you wouldn't get the same results doing it either way, whether you are jumping or charging.

Case in point, you're going to need to buy a new battery.
It sucks, but welcome to car ownership.
