Drying chamber design idea (PICS)

Hey everyone, I've been lurking the forums for a while, but had an idea recently for a drying chamber, so decided join and post. I've seen pictures of drying chambers here with fans on them, but they all draw air from the outside. My idea is to put a fan inside an airtight container and combine that with damprid.
We'll need two rubbermaid containers (or whatever else you think may work). One has to be able to fit inside the other. Both the containers should be pretty airtight, especially the outer one.
A computer fan is cut into one of the ends of the smaller container, set to blow air IN. On the opposite end we cut out some kind of holes for the air to be able to escape.
The outer container would have to be big enough to fit the smaller container + a bucket of damprid + allow for free airflow. Basically place the smaller container and damprid inside and run all the wires through some carefully made holes keep the airtight.
DONE!

What do you guys think? Any feedback would be great.
Good Luck!

desiccants are too messy, costly, time and labor consuming. using a nesco snackmaster food dehydrator set at 100 degrees is the way to go. simple, clean, reusable, quick and efficient. cracker dry every time.

your making it too complex you dont need a container inside a container. heres mine from a top view, cause im too lazy to make it all nice and snazzy like yours.
cheap fan from walmart stuck in with some reusable dryrite thingies and shrooms on some paper plates.
gets them crispy in about 24 hours
but i agree a food dehydrator is superior.
P.S. the above pic is all inside of a sealed container btw. not sure if thats was clear.

I find that what works bets, short of a dehydrator is first a good fan on a mesh (with no damp rid or similar) and then put in a closed container with the damp rid.
Fanning over damprid in the open air seems to use up lots of damprid unnecessarily as it seems to be drying all the flowing air instead of the shrooms.

Yeah thats what i done, i was skeptical, but after only 4 or 5 hours fanning then into a tub with silica gel, they were cracker dry.
Was a shame about the potency (coulda been my cakes genetics though)

Actually that is the whole point I was trying to make. Since the fan is inside an airtight container, all the air circulated is the same. That way damrid does not get used up way too much by fresh(humid) air. There is only the moisture that was in the container to begin with and the moisture of the mushrooms.
Someone said they just put a fan and damrid inside a container with the mushrooms. That would work in the same way, and I guess be easier to set up

Can you expound upon this a bit?

That is funny as hell! I thought the same thing! (Then I remembered I was a dog and I have a tendency to lick my ass from time to time. HMMM I think I get what they're trying to say.)

Using desiccant to dry is a waste. Desiccants don't have the moisture absorption capacity to dry mushrooms well.
Simply place the mushrooms on a screen or in a crate or bread rack and direct air from a fan onto them. This is the best and fastest way to dry. More airflow dries better than the heat from a dehydrator and is cheaper and degrades the actives to a lesser extent.
Desiccant is only useful for storing the mushrooms. Store them (after they are dried) in a container with desiccant and you will be assured well preserved and cracker dry mushies.
