I know, I just hate when people major in something that there is zero job market. and then complain that they went to college for nothing.

I think it's a pretty narrow field when you think of the majors that actually apply to the job market. Especially when you take people like me who suck at math.

Ya. My brother majored in mechanical engineering, and now he's helping design a satellite that's going to be launched in about 6 years. It's like he and I inherited different spheres of the brain. Right-brained people like myself get no love in the job market.

Well, this is true. But i don't think enjoying the journey and arriving at success are in opposition.
Do BOTH. If you are successful, but don't enjoy your life, you'll end up old and unhappy with a huge house that will scare the neighborhood children.
And if you are happy with no lasting success, then you'll just be a burned out hippie that lives in a one room efficiency eating rice and listening to the same music you've been listening to for 30 years.
And not just success as in money. Success as in the thing you want from life. If you want to be a burned out hippie or a crazy old bat, then so be it.

What objects are you proposing to yourself? Are they the objects you really value? If they are not, you are cheating yourself. I don't meant that if you chose to pursue the objects you most value, you will attain them; of course not. Your experience will tell you that. But success in getting after much labor what you really don't care for is the bitterest and most ridiculous failure." -George Santayana

My take:
A) Be self employed. Virtually everyone I know that enjoys solid financial success is self-employed. I would rather make 50K a year cleaning toilets for my own business than making 100K a year working for the man.
B) Stop spending $$ on stupid shit. Many people (especially the younger set) buy things to impress the opposite sex or their friends. This is a vicious treadmill; jump off it immediately.
Example: That expensive wardrobe you buy to look fly is going to be out of style and ridiculous looking in 3-5 years.
Just say no to spending money foolishly.
That about covers it.
