yes yes im a noob. and this is only my 3rd grow so i still have stupid noob questions. *sorry if it bothers some people* anyways... this is my 1st time to use a bulk substrate. i used coir/coffee and some worm castings. so far everything looks good and fluffy, maybe some cobweb mold, but im not sure, everything looks really white and fluffy, and very hilly. (which i made sure when i mixed it up it was even as possible) the question i have is.. it looks like water has dripped from the foil onto some places. alot on some others. so should i let the water be, or should i soak it up or something?

I had a series of Hpoo trays that collected moisture and mycellium metabolites on top of myc in little pools. It worried me a bit, so I used a large syringe to suck the water up off of the top.

knotty, are you going to be applying a casing layer to this? I very often get metabolites on top of my coir/coffee mixes. I just lay the casing right over top of it, it will soak right up. It has never caused me any problems.

cool, that will work. i was just worried about the standing water while the substrate continues to colonize. this shit it colonizing faster than anything ive seen. i did a couple tubs just straight crumbeled cakes then cased, and the myc in the coir/coffee/lime substrate looks way way healthier and way more active. Ive been wondering around, looking for hpoo for a couple weeks now, online and whatnot. called a couple stables around where i lived and made arrangments to picj some up... and then i remembered that my best friend from high school has horses..and we work together I have my first round of WBS colonizing as well. i didnt let the seed drain good enough, so it took a bit, but when the grain dried there has been some insane growth, nothing like brf. so i plan on trying the WBS and hpoo here in a couple weeks.
