How Prohibition Creates Drug Dealers.

I'm writing a research essay for an English course. So far I've discussed a black market, the results from the prohibition of alcohol and how it relates to today's illegal drugs, how black market drug dealers make it so that drugs are more dangerous than they could be (if they were sold by the government) and how drug lords function (existing in third world countries so that they are able to bribe government officials, force people to work for them through violence and brutality etc).
I'm about 800 words short, at the very least. Does anyone have any other suggestions for things I can write about that relate to the topic?

Perhaps how history has shown that the drug trade will exist whether it is legitimate or not, and choosing prohibition is simply choosing that the industry be run by violent outlaws, rather than the government.
Also, when law enforcement makes a bust and reduces supply, it increases demand, which in turn makes drug dealing more desirable and profitable, thereby increasing supply again.

Thanks for the information guys. I don't really have time to order and read a book on it -- it's due this Monday and I have a final exam to study for on Sunday. I don't know if I could use anything from LEAP. I do have to source where I get my facts from, and I'm not sure if they have their information sourced, although I'll check again.
Also, well said WhiskeyClone. I didn't think about the increase in demand from reduced supply. I'll definitely use that.

I've used LEAP as a reference before, they do have lots of good cited information.
But my suggestion is just use the other 800 words to try to convince the professor you're not like every other pothead writing the exact same paper.

War.on.Drugs: Prison Industrial Complex in USA is a documentary you can watch at stage6.com
Prisons as a guaranteed growth industry? "Its not a War on Drugs. It is a war on poor people with drug involement" Prohibation doesn't work!
another video I can't find, but an ex cop talked about how busting the local families and local dealers, creates a market and creates a place for violent gangs and opportunistic dealers to take advantage of.
If the police didn't destroy the communities and the family groups, and let the local people be, then there would be no room for violence and disputes over power and money over a given territory
