Is this original?

I don't post often at all, I'm a typical lurker, but an idea just came to me.
Short version of idea: Use a bunch of aluminium/vinyl gutters as your container for your casing of choice. After your casing layer/non cased substrate is colonized how you want it, arrange all these gutters at crazy angles (almost straight up and down in some places) inside your martha. Stuff it full as hell.
It would be a bit complicated and some definite assembly and disassembly procedures would be necessary, but... Can you imagine the pictures of that!!!! Not to mention possible use of square footage. There'd be a lot of pretty fruits coming off at weird angels that would probably make your brain twist just looking at it.
So wadda you think the up/down sides of this could be? What would need to be done to tweak it. Has anyone ever heard of this before?

It's original but a real pain in the ass. The only way I would consider doing this is if I had an eight ball of Meth.

See I was thinking I'd need an 1/8... of a mile of twine to make it work. Different strokes for differnet folks.

Just did a little math here. My numbers are off in a few places but it might give us an idea of the possibilities.
I went on the assumption a martha was 4'x3'x6'
The aluminium gutter I just hung on the house was however long you want it x about 6" wide x about 8" deep.
If you could do an outside row (near perimeter) of 5' sections of gutter at 8 sections on 2 sides and 6 secions on 2 sides (28 5' sections of gutter at 70 sq. ft.) then you could do an inside row of 3' sections... like 8 of 'em (= 12 sq. ft.), who knows. That would come out to about 82 suqare feet.
This could be a horrible arrangement, but it poses the question of maximum use of space.

I would use PVC or vinyl or line the aluminium ones with trash bags or the guttering will not last many grows.
I really like your idea though and pics are compulsory if you ever make up your mind.
I still don't understand how you are going to fix them to something solid though...

I still haven't put too much though into it because it's such a far fetched idea. I imagine I'd use a few aluinium pole supports and a bunch of twine of some kind. to keep it all balanced. I think the biggest problem would be fruits touching other gutters or other fruits.
What else is an obvious prolem in this?

can you cut a section of that thing off and send it to me?
ive never seen a gutter with that kinda mass. 8" deep?! (it was probably 4" wide too)

Those measurements are kinda guesstimated. The gutters aren't a uniform shape. The front of them are kinda curvy. I'd love to pull a section of gutter outta my room for when my buddies come over and just eat from the gutter. Ha.... that would make for some memories

how about making zig-zags from floor to roof and screwing them to a vertical pole.
Make as many as you can fit parallel in the Martha and then spar them together.
Then you can have the hanging gardens of Shroomilon.
