Grafting Question

I just did my first graft the other day, a young loph to a T. Pachanoi. It's been about two days and I'm starting to notice some orange colored blemishes/patches developing right around the button.
This isn't bad is it? I'm sorry I can't find my camera cable otherwise I'd upload a pic.

Could it be sunburn?

sounds like some kind of infection, occasionally i get orange/pink blotches on callousing tissue after grafting... until now it hasnt proved terminal...

it happens sometimes, especially if things were not clean or bits of shit get on the cuts. it usually goes away, but not always. lower the humidity a bit, that helps...but not too much....don't want your scion dieing. it spreads faster in high humidity and low light.
its not good, but like uare said it is not usually fatal.

Damn.
Maybe I should take a sharp knife and rubbing alcohol and slice off the healing/callousing part and I little of the bottom of the botton and try again.
It's on a windowsill, but maybe it's not getting enough light
Should I retry and keep it under a lamp for a couple days?

Don´t give it too much light right now. Leave it somewhere with diffuse light and not too hot so it won´t shrivel the callous.

It got real bad. Yea it was some kind of infection. Started to turn darker orange, so I had to amputate
the tumor was cut off both the trich and the loph, and I made sure everything was super clean this time, alcohol wash of blade and washed/rinsed down with distilled water
It's looking good now, been a day and no signs of orange (time it took for orange to show up the first time around) We'll see how it goes this time.
I'm thinking it was the fucking super glue. lol I read in a pretty old thread that super glue was recommended to attach the loph to the trich. I thought it might be a bad idea. This time I'm holding it down for a couple days with a small piece of foam and tape like another website instructed:

Superglue sucks, I´ve done it once and it caused ugly mutations in my Lopho, like side by side areoles. I recommend against it.

i also notice if your tissue, or whatever you use for your grafts between the tape, touch the cut cactus area they will be far more easily infected. yours looks ok now, just remember to let it breathe...like a bandaid.

oh wait a sec. those aren't my pictures or my cactus Sorry if I mislead you, those are the example pictures from a website on grafting I was looking at. See:
http://www.cacti.co.il/grafting.htm
I'm using a little piece of foam, and it's not touching the cut area. Thanks for the tip
