Humidity Problem

I have wet perlite in a rubbermaid tote for humidity, temp is around 76f but I cannot seem to get my humidity higher than about 86-87%. If anyone knows a way to raise that a little bit or if you think that is fine where it is at please let me know. thank you

Perlite works when there is enough holes in all sides of your fc. Also make sure the perlite is wet enough.
If you are using a digital hydrometer they usually wont read above 85% even if your humidity is 100%.

Did you dunk and roll?
Did the cakes have a sour smell? They could have a bacterial infection which stops them from fruiting.
How long have they been exposed to fruiting conditions?

I had read in another posting that you dont want standing water with your perlite, so i made sure to drain all the extra water out, and just put in the wet perlite. I have no holes in my fc, do you think that would help if i'd put some in?

FAE is more important to pinning than humidity, although you should try and keep it as high as possible. Add more perlite, add more water, and make sure there is room between the perlite for it to evaporate - don't just chuck stuff directly onto the perlite as then it can only evaporate between the gaps [i.e between cakes on the surface etc].

I put my temp at about 76f, with 12 on 12 off light schedule. I dunked them and I didnt notice any sour smell yet... They have been in fuiting conditions for about 2 weeks. But since I am new at this I had a little bit different conditions the first week and changed them to these current ones just recently.

Do a search. Use Shroomery vendors. All other vendors names will be deleted from a post.

If your perlite isn't keeping things moist enough, you can try spraying your walls after you fan, just before you close your fc up. Has anyone played with on of these:

Spores 101 is good, and cheap too.
