I just want to share this simple cheap drying method I've been using.
Step 1. Find or build a small box. Decorate as you see fit

Step 2. One end should be totally open, so cut off the flaps if there are any. On the other end there should be air holes, so poke some with a pencil or a pen.

Step 3. Load up the box with wet goods. Duct tape the open end of the box over your desktop computer's exhaust fan. (my computer has two fans on the back, I chose the bottom one which cools the chassis because the air felt a little bit cooler than the top one which cools the power supply.)
Step 4. Wait 24 hours. In my experience you will have cracker dry goods, approximately 10% of their former weight.

One of those green 3m scotch bright pads work well for a filter

That's a good idea. I wasn't too worried about the dust though, I figured a day's worth of dust wasn't going to kill me. And so far I'm right (knock wood).

I kinda did that, but i stripped the computer to just a power supply and a fan, and put rack on the inside. But i'm a geek and had some parts around.
Dust shouldn't be an issue, if you can maintain sterility to grow some shrooms, you shouldn't have a filthy computer.
If your computer is dirty, spray it with one of those air in a bottle computer cleaner things and then continue
thanks for the good idea samph

Thats not a bad idea except for the fact that its going to mess with your computers air transfer and cause your pc to overheat if your not careful

Nope, not a Dell, it's a Frankenstein I cobbled together myself. The brand of the computer shouldn't really matter, it should work on just about any desktop. It is a good idea to monitor your computer's temperature though, it could heat things up inside a bit.

that might just kill the motor for the fan. i would think you would need more holes to prevent excessive back pressure. damprid is cheaper then a box fan.
