Our forster pup, Ariel.

So, this is Ariel, our little foster pup. I've never fostered a tiny dog before, and it's presenting some challenges. First and foremost, it's freezing out, and she shakes the minute she's outside, even with a warm coat or sweater on. Thus, she is proving extremely difficult to potty train to go outside, since she hates the cold. Someone suggested litter box training her, but that seems unnatural to me. I suppose it would be better than her peeing on our rug though. The good news is that she's trustworthy around our cats, since they're all bigger than her

Your place must be crawling with fleas.

Why would it be crawling with fleas? Every one of our animals is on year round flea prevention, and all of the fosters are as well. I'm super anal about checking everyone with a fined tooth comb - I would be surprised if there was a single flea in here right now. Because I'm well aware of the fact that if there IS a single flea, it will quickly turn into a big, big problem.

Thank you!
The yellow lab is ours, her name is Lucy.
This is our other dog, Molly.

The little chihuaha/min pin mix is Ariel, our foster pup. She'll be going to her new family soon.

Didn't mean to criticize. Just that when I had a dog, we constantly had to watch out for fleas, and I would expect them to be a problem with the menagerie you guys are running.

Yeah, we're really careful about it. Before a foster dog even comes here, they're given capstar, a flea bath, and then given frontline, so it's rare that any fleas actually make it to our house. All of our personal animals are on it every month, and our cats don't go outside, so they don't bring any in. We also spray our backyard which helps prevent fleas as well. Fleas are sort of like my mortal enemy, because your right, with our menagerie, it would be a huge fucking issue if there were any! The only time I can recall fleas being a problem here is when we were fostering kittens, and they came here with them - that sucked. Since then we've stopped fostering kittens, and there aren't any more fleas.

Yeah, I like bigger dogs as well. Unfortunately what wound up happening was, I had a foster lined up to come here, a lab pup, who couldn't come because he tested positive for coccidia. So, I requested a different pup, who couldn't come because she had the sniffled. The ANOTHER one that had hook worms. They were all good sized dogs. Ariel was the only was who was healthy and ready to go - so here she is!!
