I was just wondering if anybody would be able to tell me the difference between 2 ohm and 4 ohm subwoofers, I know it has to do with the amp.. but is there a reason to pick one over the other? Also, how powerful should an amp be for two 600 RMS subs? Am I better off getting separate amps for each speaker, or one amp for both? Explain the difference between 2 channel amps, 4 channel amps, and mono amps if you know. I really appreciate any help.

Will I have a problem running a pair of 120 watt speakers off of the head unit?

About the speakers... a head unit usually only puts out 50watts max per channel. With 120 watt speakers, to get the best sound, a small amp between the head unit and speaker is recomended, but w/o they'll still function.

And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

While there will always be some difference in the performance characteristics of two drivers that utilize different coils (because the different Direct Coil Resistance of each coil will affect many of the other T/S parameters of that driver), typically the greatest concern in determining which coil configuration is optimal for your application, is knowing how much power your amplifier will put out at any given nominal impedance load.
The difference between a 2, 4, or mono (1) channel amp is simply how many pairs of outputs it has. A 2 channel amp, will have two sets of + and - terminals, a mono (or one channel amp) will only have a single set of + and - terminals. If your identical woofers will be placed in a common chamber, then you can easily wire the two of them together in the same circuit and use a monoblock amplifier (which is typically the cheapest way to deliver maximum power in car audio). If however, you will be running two seperate enclosures, it may prove easier to use a two channel amplifier, so that you can have one individual set of leads running to each enclosure.
For example, if you have two drivers that carry single 4 ohm coils rated for 600 watts RMS, you would ideally want either a two channel amplifier that puts out 600 watts RMS per channel at 4 ohms, or a mono amplifier that puts out 1200 watts RMS at 2 ohms (since the pair of single 4ohm coils will be wired together in parallel for a 2ohm nominal impedance load and will therefore share the power of the single 2ohm channel on the monoblock amplifier).
You can always under power a driver (though you will not realize that driver's full potential in doing so), but you should never overpower a driver unless you really know what you are doing. Instead of getting into the details of wiring configurations, I would suggest using the following link for wiring help on dual voice coil drivers, or for wiring multiple drivers together in the same circuit: [The 12 Volt's Online Wiring Calculator]

Heh, now whenever I read about Sound Splinter Subs, I'm like "hey, I know that guy!". I wish I could recommend them from experience, but at the moment, I have too many subs to ever imagine needing to buy another one any time soon . However, I do hear good things about your subs geo, no lie.

Do you have any component speakers for mids?
It sucks having stock speakers with no bump
I'll be purchasing these later on... http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=5091&CFID=6766785&CFTOKEN=5fec66d8f8e103cf-56D0AD41-1422-7C6E-5029787E9573B476
Feed them 150w each and i'll be good!

How much should I expect to pay to get all of this installed? I'd do it myself but I don't know what I'm doing and I want them to sound good
