i have 12 pf cakes that were being stored at about 89 degrees probably, the mycel growth slowed and now i have large light brown dots in my jars, any thoughts as to what it might be. did i kill my mycel?
EDIT: Thanks everyone for the great information

No my camera will not focus in enough on the jars for me to get good pics. luckily its only a few jars out of 12. to describe the spots woul be like lightly toasted mycel. like a marshmallow. I had to move the jars from their normal place to a secondary place, on top of the radio, they were only there for 1 day but my thermometer said it stayed at a steady 89 for that entire day, should i just start over or should i wait it out and see what happens? the jars are days away from birthing

I have read that incubating your jars at a higher temperature, like you describe, will lead to the mycelium producing metabolite that look just like what your talking about. If you want to avoid that, try lowering the temp.
Read this.

89 is definatly not helping, at that temperature not only will you see slower growth, its more than likely hurting the mycelium.
Get it down to 80F, a nice temp for fast colinisation and you have a few degrees to spare for temp flucts.
Failing that room temp is just fine, but colinisation will be a little slower.
