Ive got a 60gb creative zen which i am very happy with, and need a new stereo for my car (mine doesnt work).. Was thinking about getting one i can connect an mp3 player too, but it seems Ipod has a monopoly on this technology, or am i wrong?
Could i connect my zen up to one of these stereos?

Anything with a tape player or FM receiver will be fine. FM transmitter or a headphone to tape player thing( don't know the name). Either can be gotten at radio shack.

i have mine plugged in via 3.5mm jack to rca split into an input on the back of my deck..
gotta love panasonic decks..
the ones where you can plug in your ipod and stuff suck because they take over control of the ipod and it makes it hard to find specific songs or artists.

yes its true most new head units will come "ipod ready" meaning there will be a cable with a standard ipod connection on the end.
no you cant connect your zen to this.
look for a head unit that has a simple usb jack in the front. you can hook up your creative via that usb port.

I say to get an FM modulator. They're so much easier to use and will work in any car.

i'm afraid i'm not going to be much help because i can't remember the specific name of my stereo. but mine has an audio/midi in jack for a regular 3.5mm audio cable. i plug one end of the cable into the stereo, the other into my zen, and turn the stereo to audio in.
i know a lot of stereo decks have the audio jacks in the back, but mine having it in the front is way fucking convenient and i'd advise you look for one like that.

I bet you're a smelly hippie. Yeah, they do sound like shit if there is too much interference.

The creative Zen is awesome,Sometime in the future I'll buy one
Along with the Pioneer premier PRS880 HU,It has an AUX on the bottom right but you need a adapter since its not 3.5
Trust me when I say this HU is superior!

Those FM things really suck.. I guess they are alright if you are okay with your music sounding like shit, but if you care then you won't like it.

okay, here's what you can do. follow this link
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2102830557%201339624077&bop=And&Order=PRICE
then use the find feature of your browser (ctrl + F) and type in "aux". that'll take you to each of the stereo receivers newegg offers that have an auxiliary in jack. most of them have it on the front panel. find one in your price range and you're set.
