Beer is served warm in many countries because the flavors are more vibrant.
But before fridges there were ice boxes. ie you would have a huge block of ice delivered every once in a while and do that whole shabang.

Crafty. But I bet it was still rare to have a nice ice-cold beer.

You pretty much had to be very wealthy to have even seen ice before refrigeration.

Depends where you lived.
Where I lived in Canada, people used to store Ice in underground cellars to keep their meat nice and cold year round.

Blasphemy. Everyone enjoys milk. I'll drink a big glass in your honor. The ice-chilled train car led to the popularization of beers outside of the immediate vicinities of where they were brewed. Everyone could then enjoy the wonderful flavors of Bud-piss and Miller-water. Without ice every American would be far more likely to enjoy well brewed beers.

I think Corona is worse than Bud. It's a horrible Mexican beer and Americans only like it simply because it is imported. Its the worst. The Mexicans know how horrible Corona really is. Anyone drinking either Bud or Corona needs a kick in the nuts.

in the old west they used to have trains filled with blocks of ice and beer that came in like weekly.

You're exempt for three more years. I have a soft spot for Natty. Its just so cheap. I only drink about every other weekend in an attempt to stay not fat. My school is probably the worst party school in history anyways.

I stayed in a primitive camp near flin flon last June, they kept huge chunks of lake ice under a foot of saw dust, they claim it kept all summer long.

I saw a documentary on the history of how cold beer first came around.. can't really remember all of it, but they'd deliver the ice by train to "ice-houses" and from there they would send blocks of ice off to taverns to cool the brews somehow.
That is where the beer named "IceHouse" comes from.
