You don't even have to make that commitment right now. I say just mack it. If your charismatic, just throw around some flirty comments. The difference between a smile and a giggle, or a straight face and silence, will tell you everything you need to know, without you just throwing yourself out there so-to-speak by just asking her out. I've never wondered if a girl has liked me. You just know somethings coming when you can make references (possibly sexual, but not egotistical or tasteless) and they go along with it. A girls face will tell you everything you need to know.

Yeah, thats exactly it.
Theres only a few options 1. Wait it out and hope for a moment alone together 2. Ask her out (problem being I don't handle situations like this well, its much easier when theres a group of friends there to keep conversation going and keep those nerves at bay) 3. Get obvious about it in front of everyone (which hasn't worked for any of my friends)
The only time I was slightly obvious about it was when some guy came up and started hitting on her in a bar we were at. He asked my if I was dating her and I said no & he said "you like her though don't you" and I said yes. Then he left. Respect to him for respecting me though.
Don't worry I can handle rejection, course it will piss me off for a day but I wouldn't show it, I'd still be friends with her.
I'm going to have to take option 1 because I think (at this time at least) I would get too much anxiety if it was just me and her on a date. Where as if it just happened at the right moment then there would be no pressure.
I was gonna walk her home the other night - perfect opportunity but then her brother turned up and drove us home.
