I am using a mixture of worm castings, enbriched soil, verm, and manure. its a casing mix that i got on ebay when i was first growing. I was waiting for my coir to come in an got impatient so I used that to spawn to.
I crumbled two South African cakes in a baking pan9x13x2 inches. and added the casing mix under and on top of the crumbled cakes. I covered it with foil and put it on top my fridge for about a week now. the mycleium is really taking hold.
I am planning on casing again when I place it in the fruiting chamber, I don't have much of the casing mix left so i am gonna case half and not case half and see what happens.
How does it look like its comming along? this is my first spawn type grow. How many more days until I can put it in the FC?

Wow. That mix is really not suitable for a bulk substrate, but especially not for a casing layer. You want your casing layer to be non-nutritive.
Your thread title says "using 50/50 for spawn". Where's the 50/50?
I'd highly suggest not using that mix for your casing layer. Stick to 50% peat moss/50% vermiculite, adding a little lime and gypsum to adjust PH and sweeten the mix.

wait i don't think its 50/50 i don't know why i typed that i was blazed.
this is what the write up says. Of course i will not reveal who i got this from so don't pm me about it. Buy from our sponsers, I do. I bought this before I even discovered this site. I recommend buying from mushymart, they are awesome.
it said:
"1 gallon bag of pre-mixed 50/50+mushroom casing mix with Manure, with added lime and worm casings.
This is our Favorite casing mix in which we have added the perfect ammount of lime for pH ballancing, and Worm Casings for a little nitrogen booster!! We then add a measured ammount of Cow Manure to help feed your fruiting mushrooms longer for moreflushes with larger mushrooms! This casing mix is to be moistened and added as a top layer in the fruiting stage of most mushrooms to help retain water and in turn increase the yeild drastically from that of mushroom "cakes". It is essentail in some mushroom species culture, and recommended for many others!! Very simple to use, and extremely beneficial to the fruiting stage of your mushrooms!! This casing mix should be used on grain and dung loving mushrooms!!!"
