Paul Stamets says that azurescens can cause 24 hour paralysis in addition to the normal psilocybin intoxication. For that reason he doesn't recommend that people eat them. Anyone ever had problems with that?

The bud on the right looks fluffy, but not very crystaliscious. Probably has a decent taste. The bud on the left looks very compact, like it was vacuum sealed or something. Looks pretty crystally, but I've deffinitely seen better!!!

that was the first time i had heard of it but CC said she had heard of reports.
I really think paralysis would be in doses excess of 2+g.
Ive head a gram of azures is about equal to 1.5-1.75 of cyans. maybe paralysis is a side effect of overdosing the desired effect.
Could a ridiculous dose of cubensis cause paralysis?

I've heard a lot of people talk about strange muscle effects from wood-lovers, azures more so than others. One side of someone's face freezing up for a day, or one whole side of someone's body. Or a muscle in someone's hand twitching nonstop, weird stuff like that.

i have heard of people eating 1/2oz's of cubes at a time. I have eaten 1.5 of azures and been fine. I couldn't walk for a bit but that was the normal mushroom stuff. I guess I could have walked but just didn't want to.
I have heard stamets say this about azures also. I believe this is one of the reasons he recommends cooking/boiling them first. The other reason being the the hepatitis from the parks using reclaimed water for irrigation not to mention the bum scat that us bay area folk are ever so familiar with

i was in the idea is a common thing on psilocybin mushrooms but 24 hours seem too much olny if you are in the effect all that time , i always recommend my friend that if they want to walk or party eat mexicana but if they want the shaman way well be prepared to be prostrated, in the floor , and if you see and read in pictures and histories of wasson and other with maria Sabina well all mushrooms are eat that way since all do that to you, overwhelm you senses so much that you can walk i mean who would , Indians say we are crazy since we eat mushrooms at day light in the open , not secure areas, now numbness is other think i fell that mi feet fell numb paralyzed or hands, and tingling sensation with many especially pan cyanescens, cubensis, and with the other not so much numbness but really not in control, but 24 hours seem to much does the experience last 24 hours to , i mean this is felt in the more intense of the experience that can range for 4 to 6 hours or more depend but usually not more than 15 hours with a single dose, maria Sabina said the first time she was able to cure was when her sister was sick and she was the only way to cure her.maria Sabina was 50 years old and she said she eat 30 pairs of psilocybe caerulescen or derrumbe , and past 3 days gone , then was when the spirit show her the door the same gentleman of the adoration open the door to her to enter she said there was when she was give the book with all the cures, and singing, 3 days she was and they let her go ..go you should go back they said, she fell sad..but do it .. and cure her sister. well i guess she was pretty paralyzed all that time or maybe not i remember she said that she destroy her house,ha ha... all my best paralyzed vibration to you all

how does the it compare to 1.5g of cyans of comparable age and freshness?

I agree azures we're the best experience visually and spiritually. They are heavy but deliver a phenomenal sense of connectedness with all things. Great for realignment of the self.

I tried to get up and go to work after a night from an unmeasured dose of azures and alarmingly felt as if I had turned into a palsey victim. Seriously could not properly control the muscles in my legs and could not walk normal. I think there may have been trouble controlling the jaw too so as not to speak so well. I hobbled back to bed and freaked out for a while and luckily everything was normal again within a day. Must have been waaaay too many azures. Don't get all ballsy without a scale you newbs...

That is exactly the kind of thing that he was describing. He said it really wasn't too much of a problem if you didn't have to work the next day, but he recommends other species which don't sometimes cause lingering paralysis after the psilocin wears off.

i wonder if its an unidentified compound thats causing it, Paul also mentioned something about the extreme blueing being bacteria ridden.
he showed a picture that had a cluter of Azures turning the darkest blue i have ever seen, i allways loved that pic and thought they would be great but paul stated that it would make you sick?

I've experienced alot of different wierd feelings from azures, and cubes alike. I think that it may be mostly psychological. I've eaten azures many times(and fairly large doses) and never had any problems(aside from losing my mind, which could be viewed as a form of paralysis). They do make my mouth feel a little numb and tingly. As far as bacteria goes, I only eat fresh, nice looking ones. Not those old mushy blue things.

Alan, remember when paul kept cautioning against the "black" and "really bruised" Ps. azurescens, and then showing photos of clustered Azures, and pointing out the underlying mushrooms with dark spore deposits on the pileus from the mushroom layered above it, and saying "see how bruised those ones are?? You wouldn't want to eat those, those would make you sick".
