You can't just start flapping your gums, making claims about scientific papers without providing sources. Making vague/incorrect claims is only going to get people pissed at you for spreading misinformation.
If you want comments on a scientific report, or specific things you've seen/read provide a link to it so we know exactly how wrong to prove you.

Ironically marijuana has been shwon to do the opposite of destroying neurons, researches have found it actually can protect them.
http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg15921422.400-smoke-for-strokes.html
Quote:
The researchers treated rat neurons with toxic levels of glutamate and then tested THC's ability to prevent cell death. They found that extremely low concentrations of THC protected the neurons, suggesting that the cannabinoid receptors might indeed be involved. But to their surprise, CBD gave exactly the same level of protection.

Valbonne, France: The administration of the nonpsychoactive cannabinoid cannabidiol (CBD) inhibits prion accumulation in the brain and protects neurons against prion toxicity, according to preclinical data published in the September 5th edition of the Journal of Neuroscience.

Exposure of primary chick embryo neuronal (CEN) cultures to the carrier ethanol, Mandrax and Cannabis, for 24 h resulted in a significant dose dependent decrease in cell number for Mandarx alone. Increasing concentrations of Cannabis in combination with Mandrax inhibited the toxic effect of Mandrax.

Here's a clinical study on the effects of Cannabinoids on brain cells in the hippocampus region.
http://www.jci.org/cgi/content/abstract/JCI25509v1
This study wasn't done with THC, but with HU-210, a cannabinoid several hundred times more potent than THC. Basically, if THC had any chance at all of damaging brain cells or having neurotoxic effects, then, theoretically, HU-210 should show the signs right away.
The study showed that HU-210, at least in rats, cause neurogenesis. HU-210, which should have completely obliterated the brains of these rats (At least, according to the idea that THC damages brain cells), actually gave them more brain cells than they started with.

O and yes cocaine can cause brain damage but its not going to "rot holes" thats just absurd mumbo jumbo. Refined drugs are usually not the healthiest thing for you.

^Please, don't get into synthetic/refined vs. natural. It makes no difference. Theres plenty of extremely deadly poisons in nature.

I definitely feel that synthetic and natural hallucinogens are equally safe, although refined chemicals are known to be much more dangerous especially in terms of over dose.

I'm not looking for an argument. I've just talked to a LOT of people who think that natural = safe and refined/synthetic = evil. It's one of my pet peeves
