Whoa!

Those things are so damn small, thats amazing hehe. So whats up with this species. Im still new to hunting and ID'ing...are they active or what? Must be pretty rare, due to the fact they are not even an inch big !

Did you just take a microscope out to the lawn or something?

Cool! The only mushrooms out of my lawn this year were about a half dozen tiny (about 1 cm across) Geastrums (earthstars). They went into the herbarium, since there hasn't been much else, and they were sort of cute, but I miss the days when Agaricus, Stropharia, and Marasmius would pop up all over the place.

Oh, please, let it rain!

Happy mushrooming!

It may be common but it's not easy to identify. I will have to check my pics library, I think I saw it many times but wasn't able to make a positive ID.
Is this species described in Arora's book?

Cool these are usually one of the only other mushrooms besides foenescii that I find growing in the same lawns as my panns...I also occasionally get some small conocybe too.

Cheeers...sometimes they get soo yellow they are neat.

RIP Matt, your friendship and your contributions to the world of fungi will be missed. Unfortunately we never got to hunt together.

For several years now the parks are pretty much worthless. The city started using some new herbicide on the weeds that controls them really well, but it apparently also prevents the mycelia from fruiting. The result is that the parks have become pretty much barren wastelands for mushroom hunting most of the time. Once in awhile you'll see a localized fruiting of something, but parks are now mostly a waste of time. Instead, we go up and down the city streets looking for stuff in people's yards. That still works OK, although I'm more of a forest type myself.

Happy mushrooming!

I love the forest too...much more than just trees there...edibles...mmm. For magic the best bet is man made places like lawns and woodmulch...especiall now that the city stopped sparaying the lawns and parks...many people have followed suit as well...much better for our fungal and furry and green friends.

Cheers
