dry yields

it's my first time growing and i am waiting on my jars to finish colonizing. i started with only 5 jars (start out small til i get the hang of this). i'm growing PESA strain, so my question is... on an average, how much will one cake yield of dry goods after dehydration? i also have another question... my temps for the jars thus far have ranged from 72-84 degrees in the box i'm keeping them in. i've read so many different ranges of temps i'm a little confused about what is ideal. i've heard warmer is better so i put them on a heating pad on low with blankets between it off and on throughout the day, and it had gotten up to 84 degrees. but then i've heard that warmer will dry out the substrate. i dont see any condensation on the inside of my jars at all. i wonder if i have dried it out. but my mycelium seems to be doing ok. about an inch+ diameter on day 7. i also read that the PESAs do ok in cooler weather, so i have just let them sit at room temp for the last 3 days (76 degrees). if it is dry it will slow down or stop mycelium growth i'm sure. is there any way to rehydrate the jars if this happens?

Room temperature is fine for incubation.
Figure you will get between 2-3.5 grams dry per cake on their first flush. If you don't dunk the yield will be lower.

The biggest flush i had off of 1 cake was 40 grams wet (4g dry)
In the right conditions its possible to get much more.

thanks for the replies. i'm learning it's better just to leave them alone and let them do thier thing for now. it's kinda hard not to mess with them. i'll hope for the best with my yields. also, i plan on dunking my cakes, but should i do this if they're already pinning? the tek says to wait until you see pinning to birth. i would think dunking would drown the baby shrooms...?

I'm just a bit further in my first grow, and I had some pins start while they were in the jars. RR told me to dunk and roll them anyway, if it aborted, oh well. Well, one aborted, the other did this: Edit: crap, i suck with the pictures thing. it's now my avatar
That pic is on day 5 after dunk&roll. From what I've read on here, just lurking through old posts, you don't really need to wait until pins form inside the jars before birthing them, just three days to a week after 100% colonization.

wow! thats a fatty. is that ecuador? thanks for the reply. it looks as though you've got it figured out. yea i figured i'd wait close to a week after 100% to birth regardless of pinning status. they say it just sits in there for a week before any fruiting anyway so better to let the mycelium get a better hold on the substrate before dunking. besides, i've heard aborts can actually be quite potent.
