Has anyone made their own Limoncello? If so do you have a good recipe? I've made absinthe and while my friend and I got pretty tweaked it could have been better tasting. I've been in quite a few liquor stores around here and haven't spotted any Limoncello so now I have to make some.

i havent myself, but an italian friend does make his own, all i know is it's grain alcohol (like everclear, clear springs etc) and lemon peels. homemade is way better than storebought unless it's a good italian brand.

You can make any flavor liqueur with a recipe like that, including a beverage flavored similarly to Jager.
But I must point out, limoncello is liquor, not liqueur. It should not have sugar added.

Really?
I've always had semi-sweet limoncello.

There's a recipe in the newest Sunset:
Rosemary Limoncello
18 lemons (Meyer or Eureka), washed and dried One 4-inch rosemary sprig, washed and dried 2 bottles (750 ml each) 100-proof vodka 4 & 1/2 cups sugar
1. Peel lemons with a sharp vegetable peeler, taking only the zest and avoiding any white pith. Put rosemary and lemon zest in a 1 gallon glass or ceramic container with a tight seal. 2. Pour 750 ml vodka into the container. Seal container. Let sit undisturbed in a cool, dark place for 7 to 40 days. 3. In a saucepan, bring 5 cups water to a boil and add sugar. Cook, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Let sugar syrup cool to room temp. 4. Pour syrup and remaining 750 ml vodka over lemon vodka mixture, stir, and seal container. Let sit in a cool, dark place for another 7 to 40 days. 5. Pour limoncello through a cheesecloth into a large spouted pitcher and divide among bottles.

I've done it many times before. The best is to make crema de limoncello.
You mix your ready made limoncello with a boiled up mixture of cream, sugar and spices (cinnamon and stuff).
This liquor is still strong (about 25%) but when put into the freezer freezes into a DELICIOUS lemony creamy slush. Just shake the bottle well and serve. It is one of my most popular liquors along with coffee and chocolate liquor,
