Efficiency of Invitro growing

Hey, I have a question about invitro growing. Lately there has been a lot of invitro poo bags going around, especially with the help of Monstermitch and Jeetered, I'm sure there are others that contributed but those are the two that come to mind. Anyway, it seems like all the grow logs Ive seen have massive yields, to the point that the bag is so packed it is just a giant wad of mushrooms. My question was has anybody done a side by side comparison of one poo bag fruited invitro, and an identical one in a tray in a fruiting chamber. If not what you do think the result would be. Thanks for any insight.

IMO,
your right there has been a shit ton of poo bags latly, enough to get me making a handful after i saw jeetereds grow.
im positive you'll get a bigger yield if cased, but jeetereds bags were all about "set and forget"
i would like to see how much more you would get tho...
so i guess its personal pref.

Yea, that is what i was thinking, since the bags are so compact and thick, rather than spread out over a square foot and a half like most 12 quart tubs with a 3 inch depth. I'm sure someone has done both, I know Wronguy and Bluehelix make the same type of bags but they put them in a tub afterwards I believe, it would be great if one of them could chime in if they even fruited invitro.

Less surface area for pinning=less mushrooms.
When you have your bulk substrate compressed in an invitro bag, you're going to have less surface area then you would if you spread it out. I don't have a comparison for you though, as I've never done bags.

in bags yeilds are comparable to casings(strain dependent) just faster and easier. if your comparing invitro jars i would safely say yield won't be the same as if you fruited directly or cased.
