What truth is that?

There is nothing to remotely indicate that the radar blips were solid metal objects from another galaxy nor that they were piloted by aliens. Dream on though.

People ALWAYS dig up the old cases as no more data can be gathered and you can make up fun stories.

The more recent ones like the "Gulf Breeze Sightings" was shown to be a hoax. And the "Phoenix Lights" where 10,000 swore they saw an alien mother ship was shown to unequivocably to be military flares.

Swami, I agree that you shouldn't believe something just because you read or hear it somewhere...
But let's just pretend for a second that aliens are real, and that while you were outside one night a huge flying saucer hovered over you, performing flight patterns you had not thought possible, etc.. And then blasted off at a speed you had also thought not possible. Would you assume that the vessel was a man-made machine?

Why come to any conclusions? Why not just say I don't know what I saw?

I have seen people misidentify blimps, high altitude missile explosions, and the Stealth fighter in Area 51 before it was revealed to the public.

Even hardcore believers cannot show any evidence from the 1952 DC sightings to point to anything outside of our solar system, nor give any information about the pilots of the alleged spacecraft. Nothing. Nada, Zip, Nichts, Nyet!

Its all hyperbole.

Fair enough...

So your saying you want the aliens to come out of their spaceships and talk to you? Would that prove their existence or would you then think that it was all a product of your mind? I mean what kind of proof are you looking for?

What I am saying is how does anyone extrapolate a tiny light in the sky miles away
to aliens from another galaxy? What is so difficult to understand that this hyperjump of "logic" is not based on one single fact even if we accept the witnesses accounts?

Oh great another dickhead who likes to jump all over people for sharing something. Would this place be better for you with no discussion? Man, I've ran across assholes before, but damn you sure take the cake.

There was no jumping on people. There was a questioning of the conclusion. Have you never had a discussion before?

Man, I've ran across assholes before, but damn you sure take the cake.
These two statements would certainly qualify as jumping all over someone. Do you detest in others what you see as your own personal flaws?

Now you could put this stuff aside and explain what point I brought up that have a problem with and counter it instead of doing the expected believer dodge of ad hominem.

Show me the flaw in my thinking as relates to this post. I actually believe that you have some valid ideas trapped underneath your misguided rage.

No.

I don't believe in ufo's either, but I do make sure I get my facts straight before verbally attacking someone.

Swami never called anyone a dickhead or an asshole like you did, and he certainly has his facts straight. He was disagreeing. I can't believe this is the most offensive thing you've seen on the Shroomery before. Chill out, man.

No he didn't, but instead he tried to imply that I believe in something I simply don't believe in and thus told me to dream on. Without knowing my position (Or for you the lamen "where I stand")on such a subject I consider that an attack. By the way get a new avatar.

Ten replies later and all we have is a bruised ego and no supporting argument for the case in point. Yep, there's no mistaking it... I'm at the Shroomery.

There are sightings all the time. New videos are released all the time. Some are still unexplained. Like that recent one in england...I'm sure somebody posted a link to it. You only ever comment on the ones that have been "debunked" to your satisfaction. Why is that?

There are sightings all the time.
Agreed, but meaningless.

New videos are released all the time.
Agreed, so what?

Some are still unexplained.
Agreed. How does an unexplained sighting point to visiting beings from another part of the galaxy? (asked this question repeatedly with ZERO response!)

Like that recent one in england...I'm sure somebody posted a link to it.
Saw no link. Are you talking about Bentwaters?

You only ever comment on the ones that have been "debunked" to your satisfaction.
Not true at all. I commented on the Washington D.C. sightings as listed in this thread which have not been clearly debunked nor cleary authenticated.

Why is that?
Once again we get into the "motivation" behind a post rather than a response as to content. This is a standard and overworked dodge.

i don't have anything useful to add, but i thought this quote was just too good to pass up.

Speaking about what that pilot saw, [Air Force Director of Intelligence] Samford uttered a sentence that ought to have a place in the Bureaucratic Gibberish Hall of Fame: "That very likely is one that sits apart and says insufficient measurement, insufficient association with other things, insufficient association with other probabilities for it to do any more than to join that group of sightings that we still hold in front of us as saying no."

so there you have it..
