You should use a fully colonized donor jar so you are certain that there are no contaminations. You don't need to sterilize the transfered material, as this should be sterile to begin with when coming from the jar. If there is contamination presently growing in the jar, it will most likely come with, so keep that in mind. Transfer using a glove box or flow hood. Transferring from jar to jar like that is one of the more risky maneuvers I can think of, so make sure you're covering all bases.

dip in h202 then move to grain jar..... but ur setting urself up for failure.... 40% chance of actually workin in my opinion... if you get a chance use a fully colonized GRAIN jar that way when you shake the kernals spread evenly over the jar

All G2G's need to take place under a glove box or flowhood, when I use to do them in open air I'd get maybe 1 to 2 jars out of 10 on average. Since I've begun doing my work in a glovebox I have a 95% success rate.
You do not need to soak your mycelium when transfering, just cutt out a few small chunks, scoop them up with a pre-sterilized spoon and place them in your rye jar. Your glovebox should allow you to leave the lids off the jar's without any forgien mold spores getting in, if they do, it's not good enough...
Spend the extra cash and get abit fancy, mine only holds 2 one litre jars at a time but I can leave the lids off sterilized rye/agar go pick up a pizza, drink a beer, transfer and it'll still be good
well maybe im stressing the truth there but I have left the lids off for 15 minutes at a time without contamination, so hey... just goes to show you, make friends with a glove box.
Here's a pic of mine with two of the 20 G2G rye jar's ive done in the last few days, the jar's are only a few day's old.
Take care [img]

So what i did was.
I got popcorn / Water
Put in in a pressure cooker
got a clear plastic garbage bag. Put everything in there
Sprayed some shit to kill everything
used a spoon dipped it in peroxide
used gloves and washed them with alochol. and d soaked the cake in water then drained the water and it crumbled up really easy.
think it will work?

You should be good if you do it in a deep garbage bag, I read that they've been known to work well, never used one myself however but hey, sounds good.
