They can be found in manured fields public parks at times depending on what and where certain fertilizers are found, and in golf courses, but I realy doubtr that they would be on your lawn and besides they like tall rank grass and roots of sedge and other wild grasses and if they were on a lawn they would not be considered as abundant the way you described them.
