Soy Flour?

Has anyone out there tried soy flour in a cake? It seems like it would be a good idea, I mean, hey, who doesn't like soy nowadays (with all that protein and all). I wonder if it can be sterilized like brown rice flour?

Also, my 1/2 pint cakes always seem to take me 3-4 weeks to colonize. Its the summer and so pretty warm: Could this be due to non-incubator nights, non-humidified colonization area, or could it be the cakes themselves (directions followed)?

Too much protein would make your cakes more prone to contamination. You could add a little to BRF to try to increase the yeild (extra protein) but don't go overboard.
