why can't i enjoy the slow movements of music?
    #7705507 - 12/02/07 03:48 AM (16 years, 1 month ago)

i find i can never enjoy the "slow" parts of songs and only the upbeat ones. for example, when listening to classical music i am loving it as long as the pace is kept up along with the complexity and its beauty amazes me and i try to enter a sort of musical trance. however, as soon as it gets to an andante, it immediately loses me and i get bored. this is true for pretty much all music, not just classical. i just don't know what the slow movements are called in other forms of music so classical is the best example.

so am i missing out here? am i listening with the wrong attitude? why can't i appreciate these slower pieces?

You are too impatient.

This is very basic and self evident philosophically. Porcupines are slow moving creatures and so need speedy music to get their butts in gear.

The years of speed metal listening probably damaged your ears.

Name something you enjoy listening to.
