Moving to WA is very tempting from all the pictures of cyans that get posted here.

It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter, while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns. Also he got a race car. Is any of this getting through to you?

Tell me about it, I was born and raised in south miami. I've heard that the treasure coast is nice.
Wa state is a great place with great people and great weather IMO, alot of people don't like the rain and cool weather, but, grow up in Florida and you'll really appreciate Washington's weather.

Raised in Oklahoma, where the weather goes from 80 degrees, hot and humid, to 50 cool and rainy the next day. I think I might miss the mix, but I love the rain! I also keep hearing that washington has a lot of cool people too.

Moving to washington because of mushrooms is a terrible idea unless you are a professional mycologist or that's just really a serious hobby for you. Washington is a really beautiful place, but there are beautiful places all over the world. And it's not cheap to live here. There are more millionaires per capita here in seattle than anywhere else in the u.s. It really is a nice place though, and last time I left the state, I seriously missed all of the vegetation.
It would be nice if the natural beauty of this state could be perserved but knowing man, that may not happen.

Northern California is also very good for mushrooms. David Arora lives in Gualala for a reason.

It's a pretty serious hobby for me, why would it be dangerous? I know to be careful about hunting. My love also maybe wants to go to school for mycology

Jonathan, I think he is obviously serious about the hobby if he is considering moving...
Love Cap, Washington, Oregon Coast, Northern California are all great places if you can handle rain and cold.
Regarding studying mycology, the only place you can get a degree in mycology is Pennsylvania. Otherwise, you'll be majoring in Biology or Botany, with a focus on Mycology. Surely, many professional mycologists go this route. But to get an actual degree in the field, Pennsylvania is the state.

Are there any psychedelic mushrooms that grow wild in southern Wisconsin? I've never seen any but I wonder if they do exist.....

Glad you asked. Yes, they sure do.

There are probably some mycological societies around there, if you can't find them you can always go hang out with the illinois mycological society.
