Good Meditation Books?

I've been meditating now for 6+ months. I developed my own relaxation techniques and have experience in Robert Monroe's Hemi-Sync, and the induction of out-of-body travel. I've used an audio session from Alan Watts and have used BrainWave Generator.
I want to learn more about meditation and to take my perception deeper within. I usually just fall asleep at a certain point and wake up 15 minutes later from a state I like to call "the incogitable void." I wake up realizing that 'I exist' and I have a physical life. I want to get past that point and go deeper without losing awareness and succumbing to a light slumber (although I do wake up light and energetic afterwards).
Before I go down to my local library to look for books on meditation, I'd like to ask some of you for the good ones. I'm sure there are many "Suzy Homemaker's Guide to Meditation," or even worse something like "Martha Stewart's Easy 1-2-3 Meditation," books. I'm not looking for that. I'm looking for something esoteric, and/or philosophical.
Any suggestions would be welcome!

Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind by Shunryu Suzuki Meditation by Eknath Easwaran Easwaran's translation of The Bhagavad Gita
-------------------- “Strengthened by contemplation and study, I will not fear my passions like a coward. My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

It's the only one I've read, so the only one I can recommend
He's a very good writer, IMO, so you can't go wrong with his stuff.

Hmmm... I will write these suggestions down and see what the library has to offer. Ram Dass' work is definitely a shot in the dark where I live. I live in a state that is dominated by strong, religious oppression. It rhymes with "Mootah."
Even A. Huxley's Doors to Perception is not available in my library!

Still The Mind- Alan Watts. Not strictly a book, since it's just a compilation of his speeches on the subject but it's very useful.
Also, Be Here Now by Ram Dass.

Honestly ANYTHING by Allan Watts is a score IMO. The man is a genius, have you seen his videos? Check out "work as play" on youtube its quite entertaining!
I have been engrossed in Allan's The Way of Zen recently.
Also of note is perhaps Robert Aitken for a beginner.
Good luck!
