Not every mushroom growing on dung is safe to eat...
You can take prints of them though, I wouldn't plan on using them unless you are using agar.

So were Can I find information on which mushrooms are safe to eat off cow shit? When I was realy young like 13 I picked about a handfull of 1 inchers and tested them on a friend. Thanks for the scalding 8 years later. I live in CT where would I find a feild guide. what would it be called Feild Guide to psychedelic mushrooms ??? Wouldent a regular feild guide say that Magic mushrooms were poisonus?

You could probably find someplace to order Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World online, but you should also get a general mushroom field guide. I've got the Audobon field guide to north american mushrooms. under edibility it has poisonous, edible (good, choice, etc) and hallucinogenic. It would be a good idea to get one that has non hallucinogenic ones also, the one i have lists lookalikes and ways to tell them apart. You could probably find it at any borders or barnes & noble type store. Good luck

Yes I just purchased that book today coinsidently it cose me 20.14 or some od number like that. I looked through all the fild guides first and found that to be the bes organised.

I was wondering when is a good time tro go out and look in cow fiels also is there other places to look other than dung heeps??? I live in New England NE America if you dont know where New England is
