Spore Syringes and freezing temperatures

I ordered some syringes from Spores101 earlier in the week. In the area I live the daily high is in the low to mid 30's. I'm wondering if the freezing temperatures could kill the spores in the syringes?

yes, absolutely. We have this disclaimer on our site concerning this issue:
http://www.spores101.com/spores101-support.php#temp
This is a very reasonable and important concern. A spore or culture sample sitting in a hot mailbox can destroy the delicate contents, and make it un-viable. On the other hand cold temperatures can affect the actual syringe mechanics and cause leakage, thus leaving the contents to possible contamination. We recommend having your syringes shipped to a PO BOX or some other mail outlet building to be sure that a your shipment is exposed to a reasonable temperature during storage and shipping. Please note this is only when exposed to EXTREME conditions of hot or cold, in most cases your package will arrive in perfect condition, this if for times of heat wave or cold storms, or if you live in the arctic / desert.

Update***
Got my syringes today unharmed by the frigged temperatures of eastern iowa.
Would it be worth it (in your own opinion) to get the Vials especially in the winter?

I think there would be a lot less of a risk there unless the temp dropped below 10 degrees. F.

I've been a little worried about this. I have an order coming in towards the end of this week and on the weather report they're predicting a low of 7F... a high of 31F. Sooo... think I'm fucked?

Perhaps someone can try actually putting an extra syringe in the freezer overnight, and then thawing it out and looking at the spores under their microscope. It would be interesting to see how long they can freeze and remain viable. RR

That'd be really cool... I'd be curious to find out if it actually damages the spores. Or if the only risk is the syringe expanding and breaking from the freeze.
