Tubes made from plastic drop cloth
    #7697095 - 11/29/07 10:45 PM (16 years, 2 months ago)

I decided to make some 8" diameter straw tek tubes by using plastic drop cloth that comes on the roll. I taped it up 3/4 length to leave some slack for a fruiting flap later. I taped the seam with 2" clear packaging tape and then taped 2 more times overlapping the first tape to reinforce the seam. I used 2 plastic coated twisty ties to hold the ends closed. The tube packed just fine and I used full body weight to push down straw+spawn with no problems with the taped up seam.

yeah, plastic is clear, I made a few more and it looks like I got king kong condoms laying around

Finished tube measures 8" by 2 1/2ft .  Weighs like 25lbs.  I used a full size turkey roaster pan of colonized corn cob bedding to inoculate.
