Not hard. Just a little. It all depends on your work environment I suppose. Tripping in a greenhouse while (for the most part) alone all day isn't too bad. But an office & tons of people-interaction would be pretty brutal

I ate a peanut butter and pin sandwich (about 2.5g but they were pins so it was like an eighth of "normal" shrooms) before going to my biology lab one morning. That's the first time I realized almost all vertebrates have the same structures in different shapes and sizes. One person asked me if I was hung over (probably because my jaw was hanging open and I was doing my best to conceal the extreme awe and difficulty I was having distinguishing the floor from the ceiling. But nobody else said anything. It was very fun.

The first time I took acid it was actually DOB.... well little did I know that I would still be tripping in to the next day, which coincidently was at work... never has being a bus boy been so crazy.

I did once. I was a heavy pot smoker and took LSD virtually ever week when I was 16/17.
So one morning I had no pot, so I decided to take a tab. I only took one, while I usually took 3 or 4. Still I started tripping while I was at work. I worked at pizza hut, and had to do 'prep' for the night rush. My boss worked right beside me, never knew a thing. It wasnt bad for me either, I enjoyed it. For my lunch break I went to my friends and got smoked out. I told them I was trippng and they assumed from last night. I said no, I popped the tab this morning! lol, they were like omg wtf. Good times
I was a pretty big fry head back in the late 90s, so I could keep my cool on moderate doses. I once got arrested whilst frying as well, cops didnt know a thing.

I've tripped at work and it opened me to another level of social interaction that I never experienced before at work. It really depends on what you do, though. I do clerical work. Keep it at a low dose. You don't want to make an ass out of yourself.

when I was 19 I was in my first relationship (with Lucy) She and i would go to work 1x a week, it was pretty amazing. I was an overnight supervisor at a Kinkos on the corner of Houston Street in New York, and Id talk to all sorts of bums and punks and artists for 20- 30 mins at a time, it was quite an experience. But never at school, and never in a situation where there was a lot of ppl around, and I was expected t perform, like at a day job. The Kink was a great place to work overnight for a stoner chick, and artist - I sort of miss it. But then I dont. OoD

but i've gone to class on lsd before. definitely kinda weird but also interesting

I had a small trip once when I worked at McDonald's a few years ago. I was head of the maintenance program so I needed no human interaction whatsoever. One of my favorite spots was the roof, because I was the only one allowed up there and I needed to clean the HVAC system once or twice a month. I'd stash a bowl up there and take some puffs when I had a chance. Good times, but I'm so glad I'm way past that place now .

I could see it being cool in the right job, or even a class if you knew what it was going to be about...but certainly not something to make a habit of.
Right now I would definitely not do it at work or any of my classes.

Last year I took about 3 grams about 5-6 hours before I went to work. We had been planning that day for a while, and it was the perfect sunny day to trip. We originally were going to go earlier, but my friend had a fender bender, so we started a little late.
I was still moderately tripping when I went into work, which is at a crummy pizza place. It wasn't too bad. I could still do my job and all, it was just more fun.

Depends on the job Syle.
I know a girl who gets paid to trim buds for a medical grow facility and they encourage her to smoke all the buds she wants. She's being paid to be under the influence.
And to be quite frank, with a small dose of LSD I'm fucking superman. Everything seems so logically ordered and set out for me. I get the feeling at certain jobs I would be far more productive with say 50-100ug in me. I know this isn't a job, but, for example, I've gone rock climbing many times on small doses of L with no ropes, no gear, no nothing, and do shit I would never normally do with absolute confidence. Paths and sturdy handholds just seem to pop out at me.
Imagine what would happen if we gave electrical engineers small doses before they started working...

it's fine that that woman is able to be under the influence on the job. congrats to her, she is in the .000009% of the workforce who are encouraged.
you are missing my point though. it's your responsibility as an employee to be to the best of your abilities. no employer in their right mind would consider you on acid to be of your best abilities. i don't care if you "think" you are superman or not, that isn't the point. your employer is paying YOU, therefore you have a responsibility to respect what your employer wants, and that is for you to be sober on the job, not messed up on a psychedelic. you can twist it any way you want with reasoning about how you are of a clear mind when under the influence, but in the end, it's not your decision to make, it's your employer's.

Just because you are under the influence of a drug doesn't mean you're "messed up." For example, the days I take adderal and go to work I get a LOT more done than I would if I was cold sober.
No harm, no foul I say. I go to work high every day. Every day. It's never once been an issue because I'm still productive. Obviously I don't openly discuss this with my employer, but they've never questioned me about it (and let's face it, sometimes I look really high). Employers expect you to be productive. As long as you are being productive, I don't see a problem.

then i guess we just have to agree to disagree. i still think it's disrespectful and irresponsible to be under the influence at work when an employer would obviously not stand by it, let alone the fact that it's illegal. now, i am not going to get all self righteous here and claim that i don't partake in illegal activities, BUT, i am responsible enough to do it on my own time and not largely risk my employer. i mean, do you all really need to be fucked up at work to enjoy your life? do you have that much of a problem?

I thought you weren't going to get all self-righteous...
I work a shitty job for shitty pay in a college town. Is it really a problem that being a little high helps doing repetitive tasks go by a little quicker?
How exactly am I largely risking my employer? It's not as though I smoke on company property.
I'm sorry you're not able to do your job high. I am, and I do a very good job of it. I do a simple, repetitive job for low pay, and quite frankly I don't need to be at the absolute top of my game to do very well at it. I have had a job which required much more thought than my current job for higher pay and my boss smoked with me. At work. Our department kicked ass, and did great for the company.
I understand where you are coming from, though, and I would never want to be "fucked up" at work. I don't, however, have a problem with being a little high at work. And I do think that at the right job, being on a low dose of acid every now and again wouldn't be a bad thing. There is a big difference between being "fucked up" and having some mild effects from a drug. Do you drink coffee at work? Do you smoke cigarettes? Energy drinks? If so, then you to are contradicting yourself.
Quote:

You can't make a blanket statement for everybody for every kind of drug. All you have is your experiences and your experiences with those drugs. If I felt like I was doing a bad job because of smoking a little before work, or w/e I wouldn't be doing it.

you...are...missing...my...point.
there is a difference between what is legal and illegal. coffee, energy drinks, cigarettes, are legal. marijuana, acid, shrooms, whatever are illegal. you can't make a comparison between them when it comes to work. if you think it's okay for you to be under the influence of an illegal substance at work, make this same case you are telling me to your boss. if he/she is cool with it, THEN, you have permission from him/her to do it, and then it's not irresponsible or disrespectful. but until then, you are still disrespecting and are being irresponsible, no matter how well you think you operate on these drugs.

Syle, shut up. Your employer pays for a service, they don't pay to own you. And most of the "legal" drugs are worse for you can commonly used illegals. Get off your neurotic high horse. Irresponsible is telling other people what to do when you only know them through the internet.

I've never tripped at work but have had an acid hangover at work. At school I took some acid and had to leave in a couple hours because I couldn't take it. Anyone remember jesus christ blotter from about 15 years ago? Holy shit, literally.

I've tripped at work once before, it was a fun day at work, that's for sure.
I was working in a factory building semi-trailers where I had to operate cranes and shit but everyone I worked with was cool as hell. One day before work me and one of my buddies dropped 16mg of 2C-I on the way in. Everything went fine, it was pretty interesting.

THIS IS EXACTLY MY POINT. How the fuck is this responsible at all!? someone could have easily been hurt or killed, including yourself. yeah, i am sure looking back on it, it seemed like fun, but what if something bad had happened? jesus christ, anyone who condones this shit needs to take a life check, seriously.

Thats really funny because i had something very similar happen to me! I decided to eat around two and a half grams of mushrooms before school one day senior year and right as they were peaking i got called into my principles office. Needless to say i almost shit my pants as my pupils were the size of quarters! But by some amazing grace he didn't realize i was out of it and i had only been called in due to a paperwork issue.
That was the last time i ever tripped in a school/work setting. It's just not worth it IMO

the second time i rolled was at work. i ate the roll around 10 in the morning and started coming down around 4 or 5. this was also the 2nd best roll Ive ever had. it was real weird though cause that day was the day they had brought in a new insurance co. and were going over forms with us. there was about 20 people in the conference room at the time (i was peaking) and i swear to god they were all looking at me. i think it was because i was smiling a lot and my pupils were HUGE. the rest of the day i walked around eating oranges and bullshitting with people. i must say it was not a waste. just a different experience.

I don't see how this legal distinction plays in so much. I've had lots of jobs where the owner / boss knew I / my coworkers drank alcohol before work. It depends on what you do. However, people operating heavy machinery or engaged in other dangerous occupations ought best steer clear of work while under the influence. Who cares about the boss in that situation? It's yourself and coworkers, killing somebody while you're tripping will leave one hell of a mark on your soul.
Example: One week end at a party my buddy dosed early, and was helping build the alter in front of the stage. We had brought these tiki torches and they were up there by the stage. One of them caught on fire, and he grabbed it to get away from the stage but the fluid started running down on his hand so he had to pitch it in the grass(there wasn't anywhere else.) While he ran to grab blankets some chick tried to put it out by stomping on it and splashed burning lamp oil all over her leg. We got her put out but she had a kinda nasty burn, he blamed himself because he was tripping and wigged out on it for a couple hours. Imagine how much worse it would be if it really was his fault and the situation had been more dire.

My friends dad used to take acid and work at a pulp mill. he enjoyed it I guess, and didn't have any problems.
I took mushrooms once at my old job. It was about an hour before close though, and half an eighth. I was comming up hard as I cashed out the till and was glade I didn't fuck up and have to recount =]

being drunk on the job is as/or more stupid than being on other substances. the fact that the boss knew negates the whole thing because if it's okay with the employer then there isn't any problem. because then the fault lies on the shoulders of the employer.

I've eaten beans at work before...I wasn't trying to trip tho. I was going thru killer opiate withdrawals and the beans had a good amount of H in them...so it helped with the withdraw, but it did get a lil wild.
