it looks like a broken oak free but it is hard to tell without a close up of the leafs

You know... what's funny is that i'm 85% sure I found that same dead oak with one or two Oyster mushrooms fruiting off of it approximately one year ago when I was at Muir Woods.  I was irritated because I was with family who disapproved of my breaking the park rules and taking things from the park. 

Unfortunately, I think that log is too close to the main path, and harvesting that many mushrooms would not only draw attention, but also prove difficult to sneak by the rangers.  :undecided:

Wow, there's probably 10 lbs of oysters on that log. That's fo sho gonna show up in one of my mushroom nightmares tonight.
