I'd assume that would be a horrible thing to do, considering your pupils are letting in almost as much as they can. Any info on this? Even if you don't look directly at the sun, it seems like you'd still have to be a little cautious.

Looking at the sun while tripping causes blindness!
Oh wait... looking at the sun AT ALL causes blindness.
Do not look directly at the sun. The shooting pains in the back of your eyeballs tell you that.

Interesting fact: there are no pain receptors in the retina...so that "pain" you feel while looking at the sun is totally in your mind.

Yeah, but OBVIOUSLY many people have looked directly at the sun and have not gone blind. It depends how long you do it for. Was just wondering if there was literature on this, mainly, how much of a difference is it with your pupils dilated than not if looking at the sun, etc.

I doubt you'll find much difference between dilated pupils or not, those UV rays are so damaging. It may decrease the amount of time it takes to do some real damage, but it won't be by much.
Now back to my other question: what kind of scientist are you? I think somebody else asked you this recently, but I did not see a reply.

Basically plants sending out alarm pheromones in reponse to other insects eating the plant, so the alarm can reach a beneficial insect that will come and attack the one hurting the plant.

Sounds interesting, fill me in. I've only heard of insect alarm pheromones produced by transgenic plants.

That's like asking if anyone ever smashes their balls with a rubber mallet while tripping.
