I'm looking into getting some containers for storing various LC's. So far the consensus is that you put the mycelium in relatively nutrient free water and keep it cold, maybe a little h202 for contam resistance. Test tubes would be a good call. I would probably make an airport type system. I can't get any test tubes on short notice, what do you guys recommend? Would like to steer away from metal. Thanks.

jars... full pint. make a high temp silicone injection port and use tyvek to cover a separate air hole to prevent PC explosion. All materials can be found at home depot.

baby bottles with tyvek underneath would be an amazing idea aswell. you can inoculate straight through the rubber nipple.

Vacutainers are always choice number one. I also wouldn't put too much emphasis on what liquid you're using. Simply aspirate some liquid culture, about 6-8 cc, and place the entire solution into a 10 cc vacutainer. Vacutainers cost about $0.10 each.
If you're storing master cultures, such as master isolates, I would recommend using slant jars with agar.
