Today i went to check up on my spawned coir in my cookie jar and theres some signs of life. i thought it wasn't going to happen since it started producing this funky oder. but shes alive!
BRF cakes to coir ftw!

That coir looks a little rough to me. Maybe I am just seeing things, but I would look for a finer grade of coir.
Looks like everything is going well though. Can't wait to see updates.

yea the coir i got is the roughest of texture... its all-fiber coir. much better than powdered coir. and you need to keep in mind that the picture you are seeing is macro photography. that surface is about 6 inches square making the fibers look enormous compared to a larger monotub.

I see what you are saying about the macro. That stuff looked like woodchips in a kitchen garbage can from where Im sitting. Now that I look again, I see how small a container it really is. Nice work, and thanks for shaing.

i forgot to mention that the strain was Brazilian courtesy of spores101. absolutely destroyed the panama strain i got, which was just disappointing. knocked the jars about 2 weeks ago and theres only about a Canadian dollar size of myc. growth at each inoculation site. Panama = weak IMO, or at least the strain i received... even the LC i made with it is still learning to ride without its training wheels.

this is the container it is stored in. i do not recommend it because it was about 10 dollars alone. i didn't buy it intentionally but it was laying around my crib so i juked it. I bought some other shoebox containers that are bigger for only 2.50 a piece... im going to spawn to them today.
