"teens were seen by undercover officers frequenting the home of a mother arrested on suspicion of allowing kids to smoke marijuana."
"No charges will be filed against the teens because police don't know what they were doing inside the house."
"Kelly K. White, 45, a nurse and mother, faces misdemeanor charges after authorities say she operated a drug den out of her Grosse Pointe home for two years."

And that mentality is why the opinions of communities like this arent taken serious. Police play a vital role in society, the problem isn't that we have a police force. The problem is the low-lifes they let become cops, and the laws that are made to enforce. A society with no form of legal presence WILL fail.
Temper your arguments to reality if you want to be taken seriously by the rest of the world. Else you sound just like any other extremist.
Temper my arguments to who's reality? The reality of the morons who spend my tax revenue on paying the salaries of these "low-lifes" so they can spend all their time going after non-violent offenders instead of going after violent criminals? Check the police stats, plenty of unsolved violent crimes and plenty more pot heads sitting in jail or waiting in line at the court house. Until the laws change "fuck the police."

You have a skewed view of what is really going on, and obviously cant form an objective opinion. Then you give me a bad rating...your ignorance is offensive to everyone that reads this message board. You are nothing more than a child.

If she was arrested for anything related to marijuana, and children I'm sure she would be facing harder than misdeminer charges. Most likely selling charges, which I'm sure is a felony. And this was going on for two years? No. I dont think the police know what was going on at all.

Sorry to bump this thread buts its not a year old yet, and I agree with both viewpoints. I am sure we need police and all, but do we need police who spend 2 fucking years staking out a woman suspected of operating a "drug den"? it wasnt even a REAL drug, it was supposedly pot. 2 years? I think slandering people is wrong, case in point, the police out here are cracking down on prostitution (something which should be legal and regulated, it works in the parts of nevada where its legal, and they have less street hookers even in the areas where its not, it shouldnt be illegal to sell something thats perfectly legal to give away for christs sake) whats their method? posting pictures of "johns" in ads in the paper. My tax money for people who had not even been convicted of the "crime" yet. While I feel most if not all of these people got caught red handed of this moral "crime" they still havent been convicted yet, and if they get acquitted, they still lose out on jobs, and get SLANDERED. And yes, in our socialist/fascist society, being "suspected of" harboring drugs is a crime. Why werent they at least staking out members of some check fraud ring or some mobsters or some real crime. Crime is rampant in America because A) the drug war takes resources for real crimes by imposing a fascist prohibition standpoint which will never work B) cops these days care more about catching drugs than real crime. I do however consider running a meth lab as a crime for the simple reason it endangers people and the environment etc., and they should face higher penalties than they get nowadays, for that reason, not because of making drugs in itself. Hammer them with everything but "manufacture of a sometimes illegal drug" like property damage, endangering people, polluting, anything you can, and make the punishment worse in the end. and why is their so much drugs of all kinds in michigan? this is the 7th article ive seen today involving michigan!
