Retnal Burn "Pin Porn" "Updates"

Looking for new pins all day has given me retnal burn. This is all I see when I close my eyes.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? It's like hunting chanterelles in the fall. All I see for hours is chanterelles popping out of the moss.
God I love this hobby.

I was dreaming every night that I would wake up and my trays would be covered with pins... I feel ya man, my heart drops when I make mistakes and get poor results.

It is so freaking intense to me. It just never gets old. After years of horticulture experience I have to say that watching pinsets form, and mature is so much more rewarding for some reason. I feel way more "connected" to my fungi projects. Not to mention that cultivating mushrooms is so much more wide open for discovery, and precidence.
It has been so nice to finally find a place like this to share thoughts with other growers. My friends never really understood what the fuck I was babbling about mushrooms all day for. At least someone does.

i love retina burn. I always get it when I'm walking through the woods looking for poison ivy/mushrooms so i can avoid the ivy, and find some mushrooms. It's a really cool phenomenon.
But i remember when i was waiting for my pinset (ended up being a terrible pinset) it was maddening. I kept going back to check once an hour. When i finally got knots i was so happy because i knew pins where right around the corner.

Retinal Burn !
I used to get it as a kid after a long day of butterfly hunting or fishing ....... close your eyes as you are going to sleep and all you can see are butterflies ! fish !
Glad you are enjoying this addictive hobby.
Check out RogerRabbit's gallery ...... page 4, first photo ....
This is what happens if you continue. Get out now, while you can !
