I just did a google search of the word 'girl' and these were the top 3 results:

None of them are even real girls! They're all cartoons! Dear lord.

The first three pictures of searching for the word "poop," are also fake pictures!

Overlooking the fact that you brought forth no subject for philosophic discussion; there are no real girls on Google.

That in itself is a matter of great philosophical speculation, my friend. Why, oh why are the results what they are? These are our top 3 representations of what a 'girl' is?

How can any static two-dimensional pattern of pixels represent all of womanhood or even a single woman?

Image recognition is currently a task that computers are incapable of. Humans are perfectly capable of it, but not necessarily willing. The ESP Game makes humans willing to perform this task by making a game out of it. Some users reportedly play over 40 hours a week. According to the game's creator, if the ESP Game gains popularity comparable to other online games, all images on Google Images could be labeled using the Google Image Labeler game in just a few months.

the problem is it is not easy to properly categorize images
the only thing google has to go on is the title, so i could label an image of a tree as "girl" and it could theoretically end up in the top 3 images for girl
the only way to get around this is to get humans to sort the images (using a game)

^^^ here is a pretty interesting talk about sorting image files for search engines

I just find it interesting, and worth noting, that the top three representations of 'girl' are what they are. Cartoon sexpots or cartoon virgins.
If you think this is a boring thread, why waste your time?

Pretty sure she's real. Not that it moots your point. They're all representations of sexuality.

What's the surprise here? The only known reason for being alive is to reproduce.

Because they were arranged by a computer and not a human.
But the computer was programmed by a human.
Probably some nerd.
There's your explanation.

Top 3 Results For "Mom" On Google:

I guess the bottom line is that you shouldn't trust google in providing a general representation of something.

intertubes > life
the masses will not be happy until we finally live in the virtual reality they've been promising since the 80s. even then, happiness will only be virtual. but hey, it beats the soul crushing depression most are suffering (but are too scared to admit)
