1/4 quarts jars for rye?

Hi everyone,
I'm moving to grain and the only PC I can afford is a 7L, so I was wondering if 1/4 quart jars could be used with rye. Also is there any problem in using frozen straw and dung? THX for helping, I'm trying no to give up right now since I got a full tray contaminated in 2 days...

yes 1/4 quart jars can be used not recommended but no harm personally I use pint jars (1/2 quart I think) for my grains, only because like you my PC is small and can fit 6 pint jars versus 2 quart jars I feel you about contamination...my first grow went smooth as ever using PF tek (probably got 2 ounces out of it) and then my second grow using rye went to shit due to contaminated casings and gnats now I'm waiting for some syringes in the mail and have to go buy a few supplies this week to prep for my 3rd grow, really hoping it works out or else I'm really going to be disappointed good luck my friend

Thx for replying man,
Do you know why these jars are not recommended? Just because of the can handle less substrate? Congratulation for you first grow, I can't even get mushroom yet, what is the most frustrating is that the slice of mycelium I cutted and placed in to a non-pasteurized flower pot is colonizing and I think I'll fruit it, but I already trashed one tray lol. How did you fruit your cake to get a 2 onces harvest?
Nobody got an idea for the frozen substrate?

yea only because it will take a shit load of more jars to get where you want to go, because my understanding is that rye doesn't fruit THAT great alone, usually its used for spawning I fruited my rye straight and like people have said the fruits were nothing special and then they all contaminated anyways my frist grow which resulted in around 2 ounces, I just birthed BRF cakes straight to a FC and also experimented with casings

after your first flush and first $150 sack up and buy an all american. It is the best investment you will make, second being the dehydrator
