My music collection would be very limited (due to lack of harddrive space) if all my audio files were in lossless format. Thank god media monkey has an Mp3 converter. I think anything 192kbps or higher will sound fairly close to the lossless version.

My god, you are all thinking far far far too much about this.

Right click the track in the flash player, choose "download this song".  Bang.  It's yours.  Alternately, if you use quicktime or QTalternative, once those load the song you can go file > Save as and its yours.

Thanks for the link.  I remember reading about this in Rock Scully's piece of shit book.  The books a piece of shit, but his recounting of the night is good.

when i do this, it opens a new tab with the quicktime player plugin.  i tried going into firefox options and changing the action taken with mp3 files, but it's still doing it.

Do what Shroomery member #117463, notapillow, has said.  Search for that program and then download it if you have firefox.  It works.  I have this show on CD right now.

I use the alternative player and I can just choose File > Save As in my browswer (firefox) and it saves the mp3.  I don't know if the apple crap will allow you to.  Your config will vary.  The firefox plugin is equally valid if you're having a problem otherwise.

Also, make sure you choose the VBR M3U (Hi-Fi) (flash) link on the left-- the high quality mp3s are there. The mainpage ones are likely 64kbps.

Nice set.

There are a lot of simple small programs you can use to download streaming audio and video. I'm currently using a free one called ORBIT. Works great. I originally got it for saving youtube videos. Just do a search for "orbit downloader".

Not that it matters much at this point.  But perhaps you did not specify the correct directory to search?  Where I said \Your Name\ in the directory, you are supposed to replace that with the name you use for your personal login on Windows XP, or the name you used to identify yourself when you first installed Windows XP.  If you are totally unsure of where your Temporary Internet Files are saved, you can find this out by:
  • Visiting the Tools menu on the top of Internet Explorer
  • Selecting Internet Options
  • On the General tab, under the sub-section "Browsing history", click Settings
  • On the pop-up window, it will display the "Current location:" where your files are being held.

That then, would be the directory you need to specify when searching for the mp3's.

Incidently, I used a few seconds of the LoveLight track in a video compilation I just put together from some of Ron Paul's comments during tonight's republican debate.

The song is only played for a couple of seconds during the ending title on my clip, but I figured that was worth whoring it up a little. :tongue2:

I'm going to bump this. Holy shit. I just got finished Smokestack Lightning and wow. Wow. Wow. wow. Wow. wow. I'm speechless. I can't wait to listen to the rest of the set. I have to go to work in 15 minutes but I'm thinking about getting somebody to cover my shift so I can finish the set. I probably won't, I'll just be thinking about it all day.

Go check this out, the history makes it even better too. Change the /details/ to /download/ if you want the tracks on archive.
