Help pinning agianst trich

My neighbor has rye colonized with Ecuador cased with a ver/coir mix. Very soon after casing he began to have trich issues. He has now slowed the trich growth a lot with salt and peroxide. He has a lot of rhizome going on and looks very close to pinning. My question is what can he do to help pin with trich? Should he just follow normal pinning procedures? Throwing out is not and option he needs at least one mushroom for next time around.
Thanks in advance.

Unless it totally consumes the substrate, trich rarely impacts the flush. I've seen some nice flushes on substrates with trichoderma. However, when it shows up prior to first flush, it usually means the spawn was contaminated prior to casing. In these cases, there's not much to do other than bury it outside and see if nature can sort things out. If it's the wrong time of year, you're probably screwed. Sorry.
We recommend immediately tossing out contaminated substrates because to allow them to sporulate billions of green mold spores all over your growing area, and in fact your whole house, compromises future grows. RR

dont give up hope yet, i had a small trich problem last run and lost one tub due to not catching it soon enough. BUT I caught the other when the trich was very small on the start of my second flush, I covered it in salt and misted the salt to moisten it well. Then I just did my regular thing and after the second flush was done i tossed the cake. (now it was on the second flush mind you. RR told me once that if trich hits before the first flush then it's prolly a lost cause)
now if it's a bad trich problem like this....
then rodfarva is right and it should be tossed ASAP!

Yes it came up before the first flush even first pinset. ANy chance it will pinn at all? Is there a chance if it fruits he could get a clean inner piece of stem to clone or do some agar work to clean it up? It's not anywhere even close to the main grow area so the spores shouldn't be that much of a problem. The spot of trich is slightly larger than a quarter, but there is definately more mycelium than trich. Looks like another $25 syringe..............
