Hello all...
this is the questions:
a) vermiculite casings: there is a pin in there, growing alone. all other mycelium that has grown and colonized the casing material doesnt seem so capable of producing pins. the top layer is not flat unfortunately. somewhere i read that i can use a fork to flatten it a little. do you think this will help the mycelium? what happens if i scratch the mycelium with the fork?
b) soil casings: unfortunately i *think* that it is no longer moist, it is more than that and the mycelium has shown but seems so flat on that i dont think it will produce any pins. it also stopped growing. if the problem is moisture, do u think that taking them out of the terrarium, cover them with alu foil for a couple of days will help them? note that before getting into terrarium the soil casings were fridged for 24 hours.
i am waiting 4 some feedback
thanks!!!

High Kykeon,
Congrats with the pin!!!!!
When you cover your tray, CO2 will build up and does not trigger fruiting. But is likely to stop the fruiting process and reverse the proces.
Has your casing a total cover of mycelium, called overlay?
And what about some heavy misting????

High Mr.Cactus!
I am in looooove with this pin! lol absolutely crazy about it. I saw it yesterday. Today is bigger, started to alter its color to pale light brown and on the top is a deeper brown wanna-be-head!!!
the funny thing is that the pin showed up on the casing that was covered with alu foil in the darkness!!! so i had to move it to the terrarium, where it seems ok as it showed some growth since yesterday...
my casings are NOT fully covered by mycelium, although the soil casings seem a little close to that. No, i havent done any heavy misting at all on the vermiculite casings [one of them with the pin] but i have misted a lot the soil casings...
ah... dunno how can i help the mycelium fruit... also, the cake is still uncontaminated, no green molds or anything, but it also doesnt fruit.
here i should add that perhaps there is problem in my cakes. they had little food [rye flour] so maybe they are not strong enough? dunno...
anyway, if u think of anything useful 4 my situation, post it!!!!! thanx !!!!
