Which light is best for a FC fluorescent(tube) or incandescent(bulb)?

fluorescent. I use the bulbs using the blue green spectrum with great results. Also work w/ compact back light.

Natural Daylight fluorescent has been shown to produce the best results. Your milage will vary depending on the genetics of your strain using other types of lights. However, mushroom primordia seem to develop best in the 5,000 Kelvin to 7,500 Kelvin range which is exactly what is delivered by most fluorescent tubes. The Natural Daylight tubes are rated between 6,500 and 7,500 Kelvin depending on manufacturer.

Search some of the keywords in my answer above for more threads on lighting.

I can remember RR answering this same questin at least 5 times, and i have also said the same thing numerous times.

Incandescent will work to some extent, its better than none at all.

Daylight works ok but the colour temp of daylight changes throughout the year.

those compact fluerescent bulbs that u get, the energy saving ones can work well with small fruiting chambers. Some of them dont tell you the colour temp, if it gives of a cool blue tint (ie white paper looks cold) its in the right range.

An advantage to using a dedicated light instead of daylight, a bit of a novelty really, u can control to a certain extent what direction they grow in and can also make them grew funny, like having spiral growth by rotating the Fruiting chamber every day @:)
