I found the "National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Mushrooms" to be very helpful. It was $20.00 when I bought it.

Yeah i got that too. Every year or so the big book store here marks some of their field guides down for some reason. Last year I got trees and wildflowers field guides, this year mushrooms and the night sky. They were all in perfect condition, new, for $7 each. I was pleased.

besides being robbed buying stamets guide,and mj's book for a christmas present(thanks again buddy :smile: ) alll my books are from garage sales and flea markets,for about a dollar to 2 bucks each.i have about 8 different mushroom guides.

Ya, I've picked up a few at yard sales to along with lots of jars and pressure cookers galore.

For pics, I think there are some at the lycaeum.org and erowid.org.
